Economic Injury Disaster Declaration Information

The Gainesville EDC, the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Gainesville are being asked by the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) to track any potential economic injury as a result of COVID-19, due to the fact the State of Texas has declared a disaster.

Small businesses (500 or less employees) must be able to demonstrate that they are unable to meet obligations or pay ordinary or necessary operating expenses by completing the attached form.  It is very important that the “Estimated Adverse Economic Impact” section of the form is completed in its entirety.  The “brief explanation” field should also include comments that state that “the economic impact is directly related to COVID-19.” This information is critical to tracking the true cost of this disaster as well as helping our community recover financially, including through potential SBA loans. The economic injury reports help us meet the State of Texas threshold to qualify for federal funds.

Please complete the attached form and return to the Gainesville EDC by close of business this Friday, March 20th to [email protected]. This form aims to track the estimate only of the economic impact from COVID-19, therefore the information you provide can be such. If the effects from COVID-19 are not yet realized by your company but you anticipate an impact, you may update this information and resend when you have a more accurate account of the impact.

For questions or clarification, please call either the Gainesville EDC at 940-293-2355 or the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce at 940-665-2831.
